Joan E. Magnuson

ISHPEMING, MI – Joan E. Magnuson, age 87 lifelong Ishpeming resident, passed away on Thursday April 5, 2018 at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility while in the loving care of her family and nursing home staff.

Joan was born in Ishpeming on June 17, 1930 to the late George and Lillian (Sangala) Johnson. She was a graduate of Ishpeming High School Class of 1948.

Joan was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church. She was a wonderful cook and baker especially her coffee bread and pull aparts. She was a wonderful mother. Joan enjoyed trips to the casino, preparing large meals for her family, had a great sense of humor, cheered for both the lions and the packers because she never wanted to hurt anyone’s feelings. She enjoyed traveling, making it to 49 of the 50 states, and especially enjoyed wintering in Florida.

There aren’t words to express how thankful we are to the employees on the 300 and 600 wings at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility. You’ve all become like family to us. We will never forget the wonderful and loving care you gave to our dear mother.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Lloyd Hooper and his nurse Audrey Duer.
