Gary Thomas DePetro

Born January 30, 1954, in Ishpeming, a son of Henry and Dorothy (Hebert) DePetro, Gary was raised on Cleveland Street in Marquette and attended the local schools and Marquette Senior High School, from where he received his diploma. On September 22, 1973, Gary married the former Judy Beaudry. For over 20 years, Gary was employed at Our Own Bakery (Bunny Bread), later starting, owning, and operating Reflections Auto Care, specializing in auto detailing. His hobbies and special interests included coaching the baseball team for Pat’s Bar in his younger years, spending time at the Eagles Club in Negaunee with his pals, spending time with his family, and in the last few years fishing and going to the casino. He was an active member of the Negaunee Eagles and was an avid and enthusiastic Packer fan.

Gary is survived by his children, Gary (Peggy) DePetro, Jr of Smiths Station, AL, Jennifer (Isaac) Lohfink of Marquette, and Paul (fiancee, Amy Bailey) DePetro of Marquette; his grandchildren, Dakota, Thomas, Dustin, Roman, and Olivia; his father, Henry DePetro of Negaunee; former wife, Judy DePetro of Marquette; sisters, Cheryl (Bruce) Schultz of Harvey and Donna (Gil) Perry of Marquette; brothers, Kenneth (Natalie) DePetro of Marquette, Dale (Linda) DePetro of Traverse City, Terry (Brenda) DePetro of Bancroft, and Pat (Sharon) DePetro of Harvey; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Gary was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy.

Honoring Gary’s request, a Celebration of Life will be held at the Negaunee Eagles, 311 Iron Street, Negaunee, on Wednesday, April 11, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm. A memorial ritual will be held at 4:30 pm followed by a reception until 7:00 pm.

Interment will be made at the Holy Cross Cemetery.
