Geraldine V. ‘Gerry’ St. Andre
ISHPEMING, MI – Geraldine V. “Gerry” St. Andre, age 80, Ishpeming resident passed away Monday January 1, 2018 at UP Health System Marquette while in the loving care of her family and UP Home Health and Hospice.
Geraldine was born February 27, 1937 in L’Anse to Anthony and Hilja (Martilla) LaCosse. Gerry and her 5 siblings were raised in the Holy Family Orphanage in Marquette. She graduated from St. Paul’s High School in Negaunee, class of 1937.
Gerry worked as an LPN at Bell Memorial Hospital. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Gerry loved to bake, enjoyed traveling, painting ceramics and enjoyed the company of family and friends over a cup of coffee.
Gerry is survived by 4 children: Robert (Lauren) St. Andre of Johnsburg, IL, Mary (Dean) DuMoulin of Republic, Jim (Carol) St. Andre of Ishpeming and Cathy (Rick) Richmond of Wausau, WI, 5 grandchildren: Randi (Eric) Homburg, Alan DuMoulin, Alyssa Richmond, Wayne Richmond and Emma Richmond, 2 great grandchildren: Braedon and Claire Homburg, sisters in law: Mary St. Andre of North Lake, Cecile Sleeman of Negaunee and Kitty LaCosse of Edwardsburg, MI.
Gerry was preceded in death by her husband Ronald January 2017, 2 sisters and 3 brothers.
Gerry’s family will greet relatives and friends on Friday, January 5, 2018 from 10:00-11:00 am at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am with Fr. Jose Cherian officiating.
A luncheon will follow the service at the K/D Hall.
