NEGAUNEE, MI – Donna Mae Johnson, 86, of Maas St., Negaunee, passed away peacefully Thursday morning, January 11, 2018 at the Eastwood Nursing Center with her loving family at her side.

Donna was born September 17, 1931 in Marquette to William and Anna (Anderson) McEachern and graduated from Graveraet High School, Class of 1949. She was the owner/operator of the HiLo Club in Negaunee for 18 years and then worked security at the Marquette County Airport.

In her spare time she was active in the local bowling and pool leagues. Donna enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles and playing cards with her family and friends, watching game shows, and taking an occasional trip to the casino. She also loved spending time at the family camp on the Dead River Basin.

Surviving are 2 sons, Kenneth Grenier, Jr. of Negaunee and Vincent Johnson of Lake Station, IN; 3 daughters: Mary Ann (Jerry) Vincent of Huntsville, TX, Judy Grenier and Janet Sigler of St. Clair Shores, MI; step-daughter, Nancy Cox of Rochester, IN; 7 grandchildren: Jerry (Kendra) Vincent, Jodi (James) Etheredge, Michelle (Kris) Wasiak, Dana Croschere, Denise (Chris) Doan, Kimberly Monette, Daniel Sigler Jr.; 12 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Herbert “Hub” (Rena) McEachern and Robert (Mary) McEachern of Marquette; best friend, Charlene Kivisto; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband Kenneth Grenier in 1975; her second husband Richard Johnson in 1989; sisters, Dorothy and Anna McEachern, Mary Tappenden and Hazel Hanson; and brothers, Lawrence “Mac”, Ruben, Charles “Chuck”, and Percy McEachern.

Honoring Donna’s wishes, private graveside services will be held at Northland Chapel Gardens.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of the Eastwood Nursing Center and UP Home Health and Hospice for the excellent care Donna received and for the many kindnesses extended to the family. Thank you.
