Donald J. Tasson

ISHPEMING, MI – Donald Joseph ‘Bingo’ Tasson, 74, of Ishpeming, passed away Monday afternoon, January 1, 2018 at the DJ Jacobetti Home for Veterans.

Donald was born April 24, 1943 in Ishpeming to Joseph and Lois (Betts) Tasson and graduated from high school in Illinois. Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army and served in Germany during the Vietnam War.

Following his service to his country, Mr. Tasson was employed as a machinist for Head, Inc. in Elgin, Illinois. Upon retirement, he and his wife moved back to Ishpeming.

Donald was a former member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Ishpeming. In his free time he enjoyed travelling the United States with his wife, swimming, and as an avid football fan enjoyed cheering for the Green Bay Packers.

He was also an avid reader and completed hundreds of novels.

Surviving are his wife of 33 years, Marilyn (Eman) Tasson; brother, George (JoAnn) Tasson of Elmhurst, IL; sister, Patricia (Wayne) Scholfield of Princeton, IL; two nieces, Chris and Debbie.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Robert.

Honoring his wishes, no public services will be held.
