William Keith Forslund

MARQUETTE, MI – William Keith Forslund, age 64, of Marquette, entered eternal life Tuesday, December 26, 2017, at his home.

Born January 3, 1953, in Marquette, the son of William and Bertha Forslund, Bill was raised in Marquette, graduating from Marquette Senior High School. He was employed for several years with A. Lindberg and Sons, Inc. at the 480 Gravel Pit as gravel crushing head. Bill was a member of the Operating Engineers, and was very active with Jopling Post 44 of the American Legion, where he was a thirteen year member of the Sons of the American Legion, serving as commander, and also serving as the cook for the Legion. He belonged to Marquette Elks Lodge B.P.O.E. 405 and was a member of the former Moose Lodge. Bill often volunteered his time and talent at the D.J. Jacobetti Home for Veterans and served as a representative of the VAVS. In his leisure, he enjoyed nothing better than the morning coffee clutch at McDonalds, where problems great and small were solved or tabled until the next session.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call at the Swanson-Lundquist Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 3, beginning at 12:00 noon until the time of service at 1:00 pm. Rev. Leon Jarvis will preside, along with Jerry King, chaplain of Jopling Post 44 of the American Legion.

Interment will be made in the Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Jopling Post 44 of the American Legion, 700 W. Bluff Street, Marquette, MI 49855.
