GWINN, MI – Thomas Clark Leonard of Gwinn, Michigan was called to the Lord on December 15, 2017.

Tom was born in Detroit, Michigan, on March 30, 1940 and grew up in Presque Isle County. He served honorably as a combat engineer in the United States Army and retired from Cleveland Cliffs Iron Company in 2002. He was an avid sportsman in his younger years, and had a long admiration for Bald Eagles. His personal integrity and resilience were just two of the many traits he passed onto his family. He was best known for his welcoming smile, deep resonating voice, and disarming sense of humor.

Tom is survived by Joanne, his beloved wife of 30 years; siblings Shirley Norling, Jackie Romer, Charlene Masters, Dean Schroeder, Sherryl (Neil) Altman, and Kathy Procissi; children Thomas (Caroline) Leonard, Jr., Leta (Kim) Maclean, Kathy (John) Conrad, Dwayne (Angie) Dulaney, Stephen Leonard, Nadine (fiance Tony) Kari, Cheri (Mike) Sanderson, Marlene (Scott) Manty, and Matthew (Kristy) Leonard. He is also survived by 24 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, close friends Danny & Wanda Davis and his dog Toby.

Per his request, there will be a private family gathering in lieu of any services. His family asks that you pay your respects by celebrating Tom’s life and remembering the amazing man that he was.
