FORD RIVER, MI – Paddy Fitch, 82, of Ford River, passed away Tuesday December 12, 2017 as the result of an automobile accident in Ford River.

Paddy was born September 7, 1935 in Detroit, the daughter of Robert and Mary Jane (Hayes) Cooper.

Paddy is survived by her sons, Bob (Gloria) of Arlington, TX, Russ (Darcy) of Hanover, ND and Gordy (fiance Nicole Peterson) of Traverse City, MI; grandchildren, Andrew, Cassidy, Emily, Cali, Lily, Amanda and Isabella; sister-in-law, Nancy (Dick) Lutey of Marquette, MI and Paddy’s beloved cat, Simba.

She was preceded in death by the love of her life and soul mate, Dr. Donald Fitch on August 8, 2011, her parents and her mother and father-in-law, Beatrice and Clinton Fitch.

Paddy’s family will receive friends on Sunday, January 14 from 12 PM to 2 p.m. at the YMCA Gymnasium in Escanaba. A Celebration of Paddy’s life will follow at 2 p.m. with Pastor Bo Lang officiating. Following the services, everyone is invited to join the family for a swim in “Paddy’s Pool”, community mingling and a luncheon.

In honor of Paddy, everyone is encouraged to wear their best “silly” hat.

Paddy and Don Fitch worked tirelessly giving their time and treasure to deserving organizations. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to one of the many charities Paddy supported, or another charity of your choice.
