Janice Morin

MARQUETTE, MI – Janice Carol Morin (Dahlgren), 78, of Marquette, went to her final resting place surrounded by her loving family on December 24, 2017 after a brief battle with cancer.

Janice was born in Alpha, Michigan on December 31, 1938 to Fern (Anderson) and Stanley Dahlgren. The family later moved to North Lake (Ishpeming) where Janice lived with her mother, father and brother until she met her husband, Paul Joseph Morin. They wed in January of 1958 and raised 5 children. This January would have been their 60th wedding anniversary.

Janice loved playing the piano and listening to the classical musicians. Bowling was a big part of her enjoyment and later on in life it was oil/acrylic painting. A summer camp on the Dead River basin was a place of relaxation for the whole family as the children and grandchildren grew up. Janice loved the water and the big lake Gichee Gumee and passed that love onto her children.

In addition to her husband, Janice is survived by her children, sons, Randy, James & Joey Morin; daughters, Kim (James) Fryar and Christine Morin; grandchildren, Stacie Morin of Yukon, OK, Stanley (Leslie) Morin of Yukon, OK, Ethan Fryar, USCG in Bahrain, Aren Fryar, USN in San Diego, CA and Emma Fryar, USN in San Diego, CA; and great-grandchildren, Braxton, Marshall and Riley Morin.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Richard Dahlgren; grandson, Steven Morin; and daughter-in-law, Beverly Morin.

Per Janice’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date.

With Janice’s love of animals in mind, memorial donations can be made to UPAWS, PO Box 968, Marquette, MI 49855.
