Paula Lancor

MARQUETTE, MI — A Lifelong Marquette resident, Paula Arlene Lancour, age 75, entered eternal life Tuesday, November 21, 2017, at UP Health System – Marquette, in the loving care of her family.

Born December 21, 1941, in Marquette, a daughter of Harold and Agnes (Carlson) Koski, Paula attended and graduated from the Marquette area schools. She married her childhood sweetheart, James Lancour, and the couple spent many happy years raising their children and enjoying the added bonus of grandchildren. When Jim died in 2008, the couple had been married 49 years. Paula possessed a kind and giving heart and always enjoyed helping those who were less fortunate. For over 20 years, she served as manager of the Marquette St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store, where Jim also volunteered his time. Like her husband, Paula also enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting, going to camp Watson, and traveling. She also enjoyed BINGO and going to the casino. However, her greatest pleasure came from her family, especially the grandchildren. Paula was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her son, James (Jennifer) Lancour of Gahanna, OH, Vicky Lancour of Marquette, Connie Bell of Marquette, Sherry (Jim) Mattson of Gwinn, and Michelle Lancour of Gahanna, OH; her grandchildren, Christopher Lancour, Cody (Chelsea) Lancour, Trina (Matt) Judd, Steven (Bobbi) Paddock, Kimberly (Art) Parker, Cory (Danielle Connor) Mattson, Ashley Mattson, Tyler Bell, Josh and Jacob Mattson; great-grandchildren, Anthony and Aubrey Judd, Huntley and Kinzley Paddock, and Bennett Lancour; a sister, Linda Morrison and her family Katie and Molly; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Larry and Joanne “Satch” Lancour; special friends, Paul and Darlene Duquette and Elizabeth Hytinen; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
