Charles “Chach” Landon Peters Jr.

CHARLES PETERS JR.

MUNISING, MI – To everything there is a season — Charles “Chach” Landon Peters, Jr. loved this time of year and he headed to an early hunting camp on Wednesday evening, November 8, 2017 at his home under the loving and tender care of his family and North Woods Hospice.

He was born in the old Munising Hospital on July 11, 1959 to Charles and Helen (Kinnunen) Peters. Chach grew up in Munising and worked at Hub’s Super Valu during high school. He graduated from Wm. G. Mather High School in 1977. After school, he worked a year for his Uncle Doug in his dry wall business. On May 8, 1978, Chach was hired at Kimberly Clark and went to work in the Machine Room. He worked thirty-eight years and had to retire due to health complications on January 1, 2017. Chach married the former Lisa L. Moore on September 1, 1985 and together they raised their two children. He was proud of his family and was blessed to have his son Michael as his best friend and Charli Lynn as “Daddy’s little girl.” Chach loved NASCAR and Dale Earnhardt, Sr. He had season tickets to Bristol in the Earnhardt Tower and loved collecting his memorabilia. Chach also enjoyed attending races locally at the Sands Speedway. He enjoyed the outdoors and especially loved hunting and fishing with Michael and his uncles.

Chach helped Michael complete his hunting camp in the fall of 2016, and they were able to enjoy one last hunting season together. He and Lisa were members of the U.P. Chiefs Motorcycle Club from 1984 until 1990 and he served as Sergeant at Arms for the Club. He had a special place in his heart for his ’64 GTO, loved country music – especially Toby Keith and Alabama. Chach was available to help his mom with anything she needed and he enjoyed her home cooked meals, specifically ribbon sandwiches and cabbage rolls.

Chach and Lisa enjoyed taking family vacations with their kids and especially enjoyed their time in Cancun. He worked hard and instilled a strong work ethic and honesty in both of his children. Chach Peters was a good man who had his own mind and a quiet way of always being there. He marched to his own drum throughout his life with a slight smile and a twinkle in his eye.

He is survived by his loving wife of thirty-two years – Lisa Peters of Munising; their children – Michael Landon Peters of Munising and Charli Lynn Peters of Marquette; his mother – Helen Peters of Munising; siblings – Debi (Mike) Prosek of Pulaski, WI, Mark (Kim) Peters of Gladstone, and Willy (Carrie) Peters of Munising; brother-in-law – Alan “Abe” Moore of Wausaukee, WI; nephew and godson – Beau Hillier; nieces and nephews – Anthony Hillier, Emily Hillier, Graci Prosek, Bryce Peters, Jody Peters, Landon Peters, Logan Peters, and Connor Moore; father-in-law – Michael (Jeannie Rogers) Moore of Chatham; uncles and aunts – Bill Kinnunen, Ray (Renee) Kinnunen, Ron Kinnunen, Don (Betty) Kinnunen, Elvera “Muggins” Kopert, Lois Schimmel, Donna McNally, Jack Peters, Norman Peters, Ed (Iryna) Peters, Doug (Roxanne) Peters, Eleanor Peters, Rose Peters, and Ron Aho; and numerous cousins and friends.
