Beatrice Kay Mussatto

BEATRICE MUSSATTO

MARQUETTE, MI – Beatrice Kay Mussatto, age 80, passed away Friday, October 20, 2017, at the Norlite Nursing Center, with her loving children by her side.

Born July 2, 1937, in Ishpeming, a daughter of Walter and Tyne (Heiskanen) Numikoski, Beatrice was raised in Palmer and graduated from Negaunee High School, Class of 1955. She moved to Chicago where she was employed in administration at a local hospital for several years. She relocated back to the Upper Peninsula where she met, and later married, James E. Mussatto. The couple was married May 28, 1966. Beatrice was an avid Northern Michigan University hockey fan, supporter, and season ticket holder, enjoyed watching the Packers, working in her yard and discussing landscaping, loved interior decorating, and simply loved chocolate.

Survivors include her children, Michael L. Mussatto of New Berlin, WI, Susan M. (Robert) Jacques and Julie K. (Joseph) Blemberg both of Marquette; her grandchildren, Lauren (Brian) Kowalski, Adam Jacques, Ron Blemberg, and Elizabeth (Geoff) Lasich; great-grandchildren, Caleb, Mitchell, and Norah; a brother, James (Jennifer) Numikoski; a nephew, Sam Numikoski.

She was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband, James, on March 24, 1986.

The family would like to express their appreciation to Brookridge Heights Memory Care, the caregivers at Lake Superior Hospice, and the staff of Norlite Nursing Center for the compassionate and professional care Beatrice received, and for the many kindnesses extended to the family.

Friends may call at the Messiah Lutheran Church on Tuesday, October 24, beginning at 4:00 pm until the time of service at 6:00 pm Tuesday evening. Rev. David Van Kley, pastor, will officiate.

A dinner reception will follow in Magnuson Hall. Interment will be made in the Park Cemetery.
