Sally Collins
ANN ARBOR, MI – Sally Grace Sommers Collins was suddenly called home to the Lord Saturday, July 29, 2017 at her home in Ann Arbor, MI.
She lived in Ishpeming from 2000 – 2013 where she was very active at Grace Episcopal Church in Ishpeming, spear- heading the creation of the Grace Community Garden among many other activities and roles at the church and the Northern Michigan Diocese. We are all better people for having known her and she will live on through the actions we take and decisions we make going forward.
Her only child, John M. Collins was tragically killed in a motorcycle accident outside of Negaunee in June, 2006.
She is survived by sisters; Nancy Marvin & Janet Franke, both of Florida, grandsons; Christopher LaCosse, of the Florida Keys, Jason (Jennifer) Collins of Chelsea, MI and David Collins of Ann Arbor, MI, and Cathy Martin of Negaunee, MI, his mother, great-grand-children; Landen, Aiden, Ethan & Addelyn Collins, all of Chelsea, MI. Sally had a myriad of extended family members and loving close friends.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at Grace Episcopal Church at 301 N First Street, Ishpeming, MI on Saturday, August 19th at 1PM. The service will be followed by fellowship and a luncheon.
