Marla Sue Davey

Marla was born March 25, 1957, in Ishpeming to the late Maxine and Marvin (Syrjala) LaParche, graduated from Westwood High School, Class of 1975 and was a lifelong area resident.

Marla was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church, Ishpeming. She worked for many years at Lawry’s Pasty Shop where she became like family to the Lawry’s. Marla loved to paint and was always working on crafts or knitting hats to donate to the hospital nurseries. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and she loved the Lord.

Surviving are her daughter, Mari (Mike) Adams of North Carolina and her son, Scott (Kelly) Davey of Gwinn, MI and their father Tim Davey of Green Bay; sister, Marcy (Tom) Watters of Ishpeming; brother, Monty (Cathy) LaParche of West Palm Beach, Florida; sister, Melony (Curtis) Skytta of Humboldt: 5 grandchildren- Mason, Kaleb, Jaxson, Aeva and Kya and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Marla left behind many friends including very special friends, Mary and Cindy.

A Celebration of Marla’s Life and luncheon will be held from noon until 3 p.m. on Tuesday, August 22nd at the Diorite Park. The family kindly asks that memorial contributions be directed in Marla’s memory to St. Vincent De Paul, 322 Cleveland Ave., Ishpeming, MI 49849.
