Marlene Donna (Plotezka) Wright

BROOKFIELD, WI – Marlene Donna (Plotezka) Wright, 84, died peacefully on Monday, March 13, 2017 surrounded by her family in Shawano, WI.

Marlene was born on Friday, January 13, 1933 in Marquette, MI, the daughter of Carl and Irma Plotezka.

Marlene thoroughly enjoyed working in her garden and attending to her outdoor flowers. Her favorite hobby, however, was cooking and baking for her family. Two of her best recipes included her homemade bread and Sunday morning pancakes, which she made from scratch. Her biggest joy was spending time with her two granddaughters, Ashley Fuchs and Nicole Wright.

In 1953, Marlene married the love of her life Silas Wright. They settled in Milwaukee, WI and eventually moved to Brookfield, WI, where they lived, and were members of Immanuel Lutheran Church, for over forty years. In 2013 Marlene and Silas celebrated sixty years of marriage.

Marlene worked at Wisconsin Title Service as a typist, and construction escrow agent for over fifty-five years. She loved going to work because she considered the people there her second family.

Marlene is preceded in death by her loving husband, Silas Wright. She is survived by her two children, Martin Wright and his wife Karen Wright of Crivitz, WI, and Chris (Wright) Fuchs and her husband Michael Fuchs of Shawano, WI; her two granddaughters, Ashley Fuchs and Nicole Wright; her great-grandson; her two brothers, Ronald and Marvin Plotezka of Marquette, MI and a number of other relatives and close friends.

Visitation Wednesday, March 22, 2017, 10 AM to Noon. Funeral Service will be held at Noon. Marlene will be laid to rest beside Silas at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL at 2 PM. Services provided by Brewer and Sons Funeral Home, 1018 West Ave., Clermont, FL 34711 (352) 394-8500.
