Ann Frances Shaver
MENOMINEE, MI. – Ann Frances Shaver, 91 formerly of 531 6th Ave. Menominee, Mich. passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2015, at Menominee Care Center.
She was born on February 24, 1924, in Marinette, Wis. to the late Frank and Mary (Slawik) Kusnierz. Ann graduated from Marinette High School. She married Ed Shaver on March 6, 1948. He preceded her in death on January 20, 2013.
Ann was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and belonged to the Christian Mother’s of Epiphany Church. She also was involved in the Girl Scouts where she was a Scout Leader. Ann worked at Sears, Montgomery Ward, and Niemann’s IGA. She greatly enjoyed knitting, cooking, baking, and babysitting her grandchildren.
Ann is survived by her daughter, Sharon (Jim) Salfai of Menominee, Mich; her son, Jim (Sally) Shaver of Marquette, Mich; three grandchildren: Jackie (Greg) Mattern, Kylene (Paul) Aftanas, and Krissy (Brandon) Ogle; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Rose Barnes of Green Bay, Wis; one brother, Frank (Marge) Kusnierz of Marinette, Wis; many nieces and nephews and her friends, Judy Gignac and Marcy Malechuk plus countless others.
Along with her parents and her husband, Ann was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret and her brother Gerald.
Visitation will take place at the Cadieu- Thielen Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 from 4pm until 6pm. The Vigil prayer service will begin at 6pm with Deacon Steve Gretzinger presiding. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Menominee.
A memorial fund has been established in Ann’s name, any expression of sympathy may be made out to Sharon Salfi or Jim Shaver on behalf of Ann.
