Barbara L. Beaulieu

Barbara L. Beaulieu, 73, of Newberry, died early Tuesday morning December 24, 2013 at McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey following a seven year battle with cancer.

Born June 3, 1940 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Charles and Alberta (Barnes) Middleton, she was a 1958 graduate of Baraboo High School and a 1963 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.

A resident of Newberry since 1967, Barb was a devoted homemaker raising her family. She also was employed as a substitute teacher at Tahquamenon Area Schools and with C.C.S.S.

Barb was a member of St. Gregory’s Catholic Church and former member of the Newberry Garden Club. During the years following her husband’s retirement, they travelled extensively throughout the United States and internationally including the Caribbean, the Mediterranean and the countries of Israel, Egypt, Turkey and Russia.

Survivors include her loving husband of over 52 years, Charles, whom she married July 29, 1961 in Baraboo, WI; children Dr. Michael (Karen) of Newberry, John (Lisa) of Steubenville, OH, Chris (Karen) of Newberry and Anne (Chad) Clayton of Sault Ste. Marie; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandson; siblings Jim (Judy) Middleton of Milwaukee, WI, Caroline Michaletz of Oak Creek, WI and Beth (Jim) Wearing of Clintonville, WI; step-mother Gerri Middleton of Clintonville, WI; several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Beaulieu Funeral Home in Newberry on Monday December 30, 2013 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday December 31, 2013 at 11:00 am at St. Gregory’s Catholic Church with Fr. Frank Ricca officiating. Rite of Committal will take place in the spring at Forest Home Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to St. Gregory’s Catholic Church in her memory.
