Bible school coming up

ISHPEMING — Christ the King Lutheran Church, 440 Stoneville Road, Ishpeming, invites all children ages 3 through the fifth grade to join Shipwrecked Vacation Bible School which will be from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. July 23-26.

During the week, the children will learn how they have been rescued by God by singing songs, doing fun science experiments, playing games, experiencing the Bible story, and even eating tasty snacks, according to a press release from the church.

To register a child, call the church office at 485-4432 or just go to the first day of Vacation Bible School to register them.

AMVETS post 122 to meet

ISHPEMING — AMVETS Post 122 meets at 7 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday every month.

In the summer, the meetings are at the Post Home at Lake Unky on County Road 581 in west Ishpeming, and in the other seasons, the meetings take place at VFW Post 3165 in Negaunee.

NPL planning process in place

NEGAUNEE — The Negaunee Public Library is undergoing a strategic planning process, and wants public input.

Focus group discussions open to the public will be held at the following times and locations: 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 24 at Negaunee Township Hall; and noon Wednesday, Aug. 15 at the Negaunee Senior Citizens Center.

Storytime at center reset

NEGAUNEE — Due to rain, the storytime with the Chocolay Raptor Center has been rescheduled for 11:30 a.m. Thursday, July 26, at the Negaunee Public Library.

This event will feature live birds. It is open to the public and free to attend.
