The Trust of the Marquette Rotary Club recently recognized the current scholarship recipients. Trustees Joe Meyskens and Russ Magnaghi are pictured with them: Abigail and Isabelle Jinkerson will both be freshmen at Northern Michigan University’s Cosmetology School and hope to go into business together in the future; Gloria Palley will be a sophomore at NMU in Art and Design; Olivia Copeman will be a freshman at NMU in the business school probably focusing on management but also interested in presenting seminars to high school students. Macy Pawielski attended the meeting virtually. She will be a senior at Michigan Technological University and intends to work management information systems at 3M where she has interned and is interviewing. Awards totalled $5,500 and recipients who maintain eligibility receive an award each year. Recipients must attend an Upper Peninsula institution of higher education. The Club first awarded a scholarship in 1921. The custom at that time was for scholarships to be in the form of loans. (Submitted photo)
