In September, a local fundraising event hosted at the Up North Lodge in Gwinn raised $3,347. Organized by community member Lori Uuro, the event featured local musicians and bands who donated their time to the cause. Funds raised were donated to the Marquette County Suicide Prevention Alliance for local programming and to Camp STAR, a children’s bereavement non-profit organization that hosts a weekend camp for youth across the Upper Peninsula.
