Safe UPS drivers in U.P. honored

DETROIT – UPS drivers from the Upper Peninsula are among 1,445 newly inducted worldwide into the Circle of Honor, an honorary organization for UPS drivers who have achieved 25 or more years of accident-free driving.

The five U.P. drivers honored are: Chris Clash of Kingsford, who drives for UPS from Iron Mountain; Gary Kote of Chassell, who drives from Houghton; and three who drive from Marquette, Gregory Kivisto of Negaunee, Greg Quayle of Champion, and Patty Jo Schwemin of Marquette.

Michigan had 57 drivers recognized, which brings to 251 active Circle of Honor drivers in the state with a combined 7,015 years of accident-free driving. Thomas Camp of Livonia is the state’s senior safe driver, with 52 years of accident-free driving under his belt, ranking him the safest driver among UPS’s 102,000 drivers.
