Marquette resident Reggie Durant received a plaque recognizing that his female English pointer Kate, above, – registered name: North Wind Dancer – was awarded the Green Bay Pointing Dog Club 2014 Amateur Shooting Dog of the year. Durant receives the award, shown below, from Colleen Hock in DePere, Wis., in February. This is an annual award given to the best field trial dog of the year. This honor is bestowed to the dog and handler for Kate’s first-place at the National Bird Hunters Association sanctioned field trial in Scarboro, Wis., on May 3, 2014.
