EBEN – Melody Kruger, English teacher and drama advisor at Superior Central High School in Eben, received a $2,000 grant from the Alger Regional Community Foundation for theater equipment.

The grant will be used to purchase theater lights, area microphones, a sound mixing board and speakers.

In the past four years, Superior Central has staged classics such as “Arsenic and Old Lace” and “Harvey,” as well as comedic whodunits, with no lighting or sound equipment, relying on actor projection and rented lights.

Having its own theater equipment will enable the school to develop a sustainable drama program, including a technical crew in addition to the actors.
