The Superior Health Foundation recently provided a $640 grant of to Girls on the Move, an affiliate of Gwinn Area Community Schools. At the presentation are, from left, Jada LaCount; Jim LaJoie, executive director of the Superior Health Foundation; Connie Sather, a grade school teacher at Sawyer Elementary School who oversees Girls on the Move; and Shanna LaRock. LaCount and LaRock are actively involved in Girls on the Move, which is offered to fifth-grade girls to build assets and self-esteem before they leave elementary school and go into middle school.
