St. Michael Teen Group makes gifts for veterans
The St. Michael Catholic Church in Marquett ,Teen Group — comprised of teens in grades 5-12 from four school districts — recently made Veterans Day gifts for some of the residents of the D.J. Jaccobeti Home for Veterans in Marquette. The gifts were handmade flag crosses along with socks, candy and facial tissue. The youth included, from the left: Bella Nurkala (Gwinn), Luke Applekamp and Lucas Belkowski (Marquette Senior High School), Julia Applekamp (Bothwell Middle School) and Maija Parkkonen and Caydence Ranta (MSHS). Teens not pictured but who also worked on this project: Dominic Camilli and Stella Huddle (Father Marquette Catholic Academy).
