Man arrested for allegedly possessing abusive material
SAULT STE. MARIE — Troopers from the Michigan State Police Sault Ste. Marie Post on Thursday arrested a man for allegedly possessing child sexually abusive material.
The post reported that on Wednesday, troopers received a request to assist the South Dakota Criminal Investigations Division with an investigation. The troopers contacted the suspect, 25-year-old Waylon Staricha, formerly from Volga, South Dakota.
Staricha had recently moved to the Rudyard area.
As a result of the investigation, Staricha was arrested for possession of child sexually abusive material and was lodged in the Chippewa County Jail.
He was arraigned in 91st District Court on Thursday and released with a tether and a personal recognizance bond.
Staricha is due back in court on Oct. 1.
