ISHPEMING — Mrs. Hettie C. Felch, wife of Dr. T.A. Felch, and one of the city’s best known residents, died at 3:45 a.m. today in her home, 304 West Euclid, following an illness of several months’ duration. Felch suffered a general breakdown last year and had been confined to her bed since Dec. 10. She had been in failing health for several years and her condition had been critical since Wednesday. She was born in 1858 in Maryland, the daughter of Colonel Andrew Ege. The family moved to Atchison, Kansas in 1860 and it was there that Dr. and Mrs. Felch were married in 1883. Dr. Felch, one of the pioneer physicians of the Upper Peninsula, had located in Ishpeming in 1880 and following his marriage he brought his bride here. Their residence in the city has been continuous. Besides her husband, Mrs. Felch is survived by one daughter, Mrs. J. Ellzey Hayden, and two grandchildren, Theodore Felch Hayden and J. Ellzey Hayden, Jr. The funeral will be held at 2:30 p. m. Tuesday from the home. The Rev. W. M. MacKay, pastor of the Presbyterian church, will conduct services.
