Heritage trail maintenance set

NEGAUNEE – The Iron Ore Heritage Recreation Authority, the Michigan Department of Natural Resources ORV sponsor for the Iron Ore Heritage Trail C Route from Negaunee to Republic, will start grading and gravel work Monday in Ely and Humboldt townships. Work is expected to be completed within two weeks.

People using the section of trail from the Tilden/Ely township line to the Humboldt/Republic township line should be aware of heavy equipment on the trail. Please yield to the operators and slight delays may be experienced in travel.

Funding for the maintenance is provided by the state of Michigan ORV trail permit program. This is part of the annual trail maintenance program for the ORV trail and will be the final grading of the season.
