$201K in funds to be available

LANSING — Michigan’s Nonpoint Source Program anticipates about $201,000 of Federal Clean Water Act Section 604(b) funds will be available to develop new or update existing watershed management plans.

A Request For Proposals has been posted to the Michigan Nonpoint Source Program webpage, located at https://www.michigan.gov/egle/about/organization/water-resources/nonpoint-source. It includes details about grant requirements and links to the forms and instructions.

Funded projects must result in a watershed management plan approvable under both state Clean Michigan Initiative and Federal Clean Water Act Section 319(h) criteria. All Michigan watersheds are eligible. Regional and local planning entities, local units of government, nonprofit organizations, and private colleges and private universities are eligible to apply. Proposals must include a minimum of 10% local match and must request a minimum of $25,000 in grant funds. The maximum request is the full available amount. Applications are due Aug. 18, with awards expected to be announced late this fall.
