HARVEY — Cub Scout Pack 360 inducted three new adult leaders and one Boy Scout youth leader in January. Induction ceremonies were held for Committee Chairman Mark Bye, Assistant Cubmaster Kristine Bye, Assistant Cubmaster Bob Zeil, Webelo’s Den Chief Eugene Bleckler. Each new leader was presented with a badge of office. Bye was inducted into his new position by outgoing committee Chairman Kevin Small. Both assistant cubmasters were inducted by Bye and Cubmaster Kevin Small. Webelo’s Den Chief Eugene Blecker of Troop 305 of Marquette was presented a badge of office and a Den Chief shoulder cord. He will serve as chief for the Wolverine Patrol for about one year.

MARQUETTE — An application was made to the State of Michigan this week for the creation of the F & R Corporation of Marquette, to purchase a portion of the land and buildings on the site bounded by Baraga Avenue, Third and Spring streets, opposite the Marquette County courthouse. The A&P Co. has signed a lease for the tenancy of a store building to be constructed on that site by the F&R Corp. Demolition of the present buildings located there began April 13. Incorporators of the F&R Corp. are Maxwell K. Reynolds Jr. and Lincoln B. Frazier. Frazier said today that the new store building will have 13,000 square feet of main floor and 6,000 square feet of basement. The plot will be devoted to parking area. It is expected that new construction will begin by June 1 and that opening of the new A&P store will be I October of this year, Frazier said. Plans are being prepared by Walter J. Meyers and Associate, Marquette architectural firm.
