‘Iron Family’ to be screened
MARQUETTE — “Iron Family” will be screened at the prestigious Slamdance Film Festival today through Feb. 6.
Individuals can stream all the festival selections through the festival app for $10.
The “Iron Family” filmmakers are asking for the public’s help to win the audience award. They are encouraging everyone to share this challenge through social media, telephone and conversations.
The documentary features Jazmine Faries, a playwright with Down syndrome. Director Pat Longstreth said he was interested in Slamdance because of its “Unstoppable” category, which showcases films that feature disabled artists.
A live question-and-answer session will feature the “Iron Family” filmmakers at 3 p.m. Saturday. To vote for the audience award, visit https://slamdance.com/festival/.
