SAYT production starts Tuesday
MARQUETTE — Superior Arts Youth Theater will present “All the World’s a Stage” at Lake Superior Theatre Aug. 3-7. The production is directed by Amber Christunas and features a small cast of young actors in eighth grade and older.
“All the World’s a Stage” is a collection of scenes from Shakespeare’s most famous works including selections from “Hamlet,” “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” “The Merchant of Venice,” “Pericles,” “The Tempest” and more. The show is a perfect introduction to Shakespeare for audiences of all ages.
Last year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, SAYT’s typical programming was suspended and partially replaced with digital theatre activities. SAYT offered classes and script readings via video conferencing software, animated productions, and digital performances. With safety restrictions beginning to ease this summer, the youth theatre is returning to in-person rehearsals and performances.
“All the World’s a Stage” will be presented Tuesday, Aug. 3 through Saturday, Aug. 7 at the Lake Superior Theatre boathouse. All performances begin at 7:30 p.m. Advance tickets are on sale now: $15 for adults, $12 for students/seniors and $7.50 for youth 14 and younger. Purchase tickets online at nmu.universitytickets.com, by phone 906-227-1032, or in person at any NMU ticketing outlet: Berry Events Center, University Bookstore, Superior Dome or the Forest Roberts Theatre.
