New Marquette-area website out

MARQUETTE — MarquetteNow, an organization “devoted to helping residents and tourists find the best places to eat, drink, and shop locally,” has unveiled its new website as summer is underway in Marquette County, organizers said in an announcement.

Marquette-Now.com features the “most comprehensive list” of bars, restaurants, coffee shops and specialty shops across Marquette County, organizers aid. On the website, visitors can find profile pages for more than 120 businesses, each with updated hours, menus, phone numbers and specials available.

For each day of the week, it has Daily Deals pages, presented by Oberstar Construction, devoted to displaying the various deals available at businesses in each community.

The updated website also includes new features for its users, including:

≤ Happy Hours pages, where users can browse by day and time for listings of bars and restaurants featuring a happy hour special

≤ An Outdoor Seating page, with listings for bars, restaurants and coffee shops with outdoor seating available

≤ A Merch! page, featuring t-shirts designed with original artwork depicting parts of downtown areas in Marquette and Negaunee

The updated website goes live following the easing of Michigan Department of Health and Human Services COVID-19 restrictions across the state, opening up outdoor seating to full capacity and ending the 11 p.m. curfew.

“Like everyone, we’re anticipating a very busy and exciting summer ahead for these small business owners, their employees, and the community members looking to get out of the house,” Doug Lindblom, co-Creator of MarquetteNow, said in the release. “Our hope is that the cleaner, faster version of our site will create value for both businesses and consumers.”

MarquetteNow is committed to a goal of 100% accuracy with all information posted on Marquette-Now.com, organizers said. It also shares photos and information about the newest deals on its Facebook, Instagram and Twitter pages.
