MSUE offering youth essay contest
MARQUETTE — Michigan State University Extension and 4-H are holding a Cash Composition Contest for youths age 9-13.
By writing an essay of 300 words or less on savings and investing, youths can win one of five cash prizes and the choice for the first prize of the cash or $1,000 in a Michigan Education Savings Program or Michigan Education Trust 529 program.
Prizes for second through fifth places are $350, $300, $250 and $200, respectively.
The essays are due by 11:59 p.m. Monday.
Contests and youth financial education are taking place in relation to Financial Wellness Month in April for Michigan.
