Knockabouts at PWPL tonight

MARQUETTE — At 7 tonight, music lovers are invited to a performance by the Knockabouts on the Peter White Public Library’s Front Street steps.

The Knockabouts with Dan Truckey on guitar, Barbara Rhyneer on fiddle and mandolin, and Timothy DeMarte on bodhran (Irish drum) play Celtic music spanning many political boundaries and periods of time. They have performed together for over 10 years for various occasions in the Marquette community, including workshops at the Hiawatha Music Festival, Northern Michigan University functions, and ceili dances hosted by the Marquette Folk Dancers.

Bring a chair or blanket to sit on to enjoy this weeknight event. Attendees are requested to wear masks and follow social distancing guidelines.

A rain date has been set for Tuesday, Aug. 11 at 7 p.m.

There is no admission fee to attend thanks to sponsorship by the Carroll Paul Memorial Trust Fund of the Peter White Public Library. For more information, visit www.pwpl.info, email Carolyn at cmcmanis@uproc.lib.mi.us or call 226-4318.
