Virtual race benefits SAYT

MARQUETTE — Superior Arts Youth Theater is holding its fourth annual Superheroes On the Run 1 Mile, 5K, and 10K fundraiser as a virtual race now through July 10.

A virtual race can be run (or walked) from any location the participant chooses. Runners are encouraged to time themselves and run, jog, or walk on the road, a trail, the treadmill, at the gym, or even at another race. SAYT will be accepting results through July 10. Proceeds from this event benefit Superior Arts Youth Theater.

“Superheroes on the Run is a substantial fundraiser for SAYT. We had already planned to add on a virtual run to reach SAYT supporters who live far, far away! When the COVID-19 crisis happened, we recognized it was not a viable event for us to host in person and that it would be better to wait until it is safe for our community to resume large attendance events,” said Jalina McClain, Executive Director, in a press release.

Online registration is open now at: https://runsignup.com/Race/MI/Marquette/SuperheroesontheRun

Registration is $25 for all race lengths.

Results from each race will be published via an email to all participants, SAYT’s website, and SAYT’s Facebook page.

Participants also are encouraged to snap a pre- or post-race photo and tag SAYT on Facebook using the hashtags #WeAreSAYT, #VirtualSuperheroSAYT or send pictures to saytheater.directors@gmail.com.

SAYT is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization serving the central Upper Peninsula of Michigan that seeks to empower young people ages 3-18 through educational, performance and technical theater opportunities.
