Old school Crazy Days in Ishpeming

ISHPEMING — Bringing back the old school Crazy Days Sidewalk Sale to downtown Ishpeming from noon to 6 p.m. Friday, the Greater Ishpeming-Negaunee Area Chamber of Commerce is working with downtown businesses to get the day organized.

In lieu of the Festival of Treasures, the GINCC is helping to organize a scaled down event to help local businesses through the turbulent economic times. Many years ago, the Ishpeming Business Association use to host Crazy Days Sidewalk Sale in downtown Ishpeming.

A one block area from Division Street to Pearl Street on Main Street will be closed from noon-6 p.m. for downtown business to sell outside on the street. It won’t be a large-scale festival as the recent years, but an opportunity for people to shop outside and enjoy the community.

Several of the surrounding blocks will have additional businesses offering goods for sale too.

People are invited to shop great deals from Wilderness Sports Inc., The Main Haven, Native Nails, Jackson’s Do It Best Hardware, Susie Q’s, Main Street Antique Mall, Rare Earth Goods, West End Ski & Trail, Yooper Goddess and more.

People also can order take out from Bucks Restaurant and enjoy outdoor seating.

The event will be weather dependent and may change or cancel on short notice.

Organizers strongly recommend that everyone attending follow COVID-19 prevention measures including social distancing and wearing masks covering the nose and mouth when appropriate. People are asked to show respect and courtesy of those attending and businesses participating. And anyone who is feeling ill please stay home.
