Virtual work session Wednesday
MARQUETTE — The Marquette City Commission will meet Wednesday and hold a work session virtually through Zoom video conferencing to adhere to executive orders from the office of Gov. Gretchen Whitmer. The meeting will be streamed on YouTube starting 5 p.m. Wednesday at youtube.com/user/CityofMarquetteGov.
There will be three options for public participation including video conferencing, phone conferencing or written comment during the two public comment periods for each meeting: one at the beginning and one at the end. Comments are limited to three minutes and speakers must state their name and address; written comments are limited to 500 words.
For those wishing to make a video comment, visit us02web.zoom.us/j/89840991411 on a computer or smart device that has a camera. For those wishing to call in and make a comment over the phone, dial 312-626-6799 and enter the meeting ID 898 4099 1411. Written comments must be submitted by 3 p.m. Wednesday to shobbins@marquettemi.gov.
When participating via video or phone conferencing, participants will be placed in a virtual lobby/on-hold that opens at 5:50 p.m., until public comment is reached. Once public comment is open, the mayor will go through each person waiting in the lobby one at a time and provide them with the opportunity to address the commission. Officials urge participants to follow the meeting on YouTube to know when public comment is happening.
