City commission meets remotely
MARQUETTE — The Marquette City Commission will meet Tuesday virtually via Zoom video conferencing to comply with Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s executive orders. The meeting will be streamed at 6 p.m. on Channel 191 and YouTube at youtube.com/user/cityofmarquettegov.
The public will have three options to participate through video conferencing, phone conferencing and written comment. Comments are limited to three minutes and speakers must state their name and address; written comments are limited to 500 words and must be submitted by 4 p.m. Tuesday to firstname.lastname@example.org.
For those wishing to make a video comment, visit us02web.zoom.us/j/81328210144 on a computer or smart device that has a camera. For those wishing to make a phone comment, dial 312-626-6799 and enter the meeting ID 813 2821 0144.
When participating via video or phone conferencing, participants will be placed in a virtual lobby/on-hold that opens at 5:50 p.m. until public comment is reached. Once public comment is open, the mayor will go through each person waiting in the lobby one at a time and provide them with the opportunity to address the commission. Officials urge participants to follow the meeting on Channel 191 or YouTube to know when public comment is happening.
