KIVA — The Kiva Klassic Krazy Shirt Fun Run and Walk starts with registration at 9 a.m. Saturday. Participants can walk or run one, three, five, or seven miles during the family event. A picnic will take place afterward at the public access site on the Whitefish River, about three miles from Kiva, where the race begins and ends. Trophies will be presented and the person designing the “Kraziest T-shirt” will receive a savings bond from The Bank of Trenary. The winning design will be used for next year’s official race T-shirt. Cost is $8.50 in advance, $10 Saturday. Registration forms can be obtained at The Wheels Restaurant in Kiva.

K.I. SAWYER — Capt. Jimmie D. Baggett, Corsicana, Texas, a Southern Baptist minister, has arrived at K.I. Sawyer Air Force Base to assume duties as chaplain. Stationed with the 56th Fighter Group here, Capt. Baggett was previously at chaplain school, Lackland AFB, Texas. Prior to that, he was at the Burton Hill Baptist Church, Fort Worth, Texas. The chaplain has spent 12 years in the Air Force reserve and three years in active duty. He was stationed in Okinawa in 1945 and 1946, and in England in 1951. He is graduated of Bayor University, Waco, Texas, and of the Southwestern Theological Seminary, Fort Worth. He also attended the Air Force B-29 Specialist School, Boeing Field, Wash. Chaplain and Mrs. Baggett have two children, John, 7, and Jimmie, 4.
