WEHF spring grant opportunity

MARQUETTE — The West End Health Foundation, formerly the Western Marquette County Health Foundation, is announcing spring grant opportunities.

Priority funding areas are projects offered in the cities of Ishpeming and Negaunee and the following townships: Champion, Ely, Humboldt, Ishpeming, Michigamme, Negaunee, Republic, Richmond and Tilden, organizers said in a press release.

The WEHF opens applications for funding two times per year: spring (capital, facilities and/or equipment) and fall (programmatic).

Nonprofit organizations with IRS nonprofit certification can apply for one project per funding cycle. The grant range is $1,000 minimum to $10,000 maximum per organization. In some cases, a multi-year proposal will be accepted, but generally, requests should relate to projects that can be completed within one calendar year, officials said.

All questions concerning the WEHF grant process should be directed to foundation manager Pam Christensen at 906-204-7410.

WEHF, a 501(c)3 organization, was founded in 2014 as a result of the sale of Bell Hospital to LifePoint Hospital.
