HANCOCK — Former state Rep. Mike Lahti, D-Hancock, has announced he officially endorsed Dana Ferguson for United States Congress.

Mike Lahti sponsored Ferguson’s Hancock fundraiser at the Orpheum Theater in Hancock on Friday along with several other prominent Houghton County residents and officials.

“Dana is a straight-talking native of the U.P. who cares about creating good-paying jobs and

protecting the environment. Dana is well suited to represent us in Washington,” Lahti said in a press release.

Lahti served the 110th District from 2007 – 2011. Lahti also served on the board of

Finlandia University in Hancock and operates a successful real-estate business.

“I am honored to have the support of former Representative Lahti; he has been a steadfast leader in the Upper Peninsula for decades. Mike lived the role of a public servant, while still being active in his community and his family business,” Ferguson said in a press release. I’m truly humbled.
