TKE holds ceremonial ‘Tub Push’

MARQUETTE — The Lake Superior Village Youth and Family Center was the local nonprofit chosen by Tau Kappa Epsilon Northern Michigan University Chapter to receive the money raised during this year’s “tub push” along with the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
The event was about celebrating the friendship formed with TKE and the youth center, said center program director Kelsey Roy.
“They’ve really created a bond with us that I hope can continue. They decided that they liked what they saw at the youth and family center and wanted to give back locally,” Roy said. “I think it’s great that not only do these families see that Northern students are invested in our community but I think that it’s great for the kids to have that bond with them as well. It’s good for students who are living out of town to have that local bond with a place and I told them our doors are always open to them, they’re family now.”
