Women entrepreneurs event set

MARQUETTE — Innovate Marquette SmartZone is planning a Women in Entrepreneurship event at 6 p.m. Thursday at Barrel + Beam in Marquette Township. It is free and open to the public.

This event hosts a panel of local women entrepreneurs from the creative industry, discussing the challenges they face by being a woman in entrepreneurship, ways they have overcome these challenges and how they have paved the way for other women in the community.

Ruth Solinski, human resources manager at RTI Surgical, is moderating the event. Speakers include: Beth Millner, owner of Beth Millner Jewelry; Sarah Ruuska, owner of Lutey’s Flower Shop; Carrie Pearson, children’s book author and consultant; and Michele Dupras, owner of Revisions Design Studio.

The evening kicks off with a beer and wine tasting with Barrel + Beam for attendees age 21 and older and food is provided by Cafe Bodega, giving attendees the opportunity to network, socialize and connect with others.

At 6:30 p.m. the panel discussion begins.

For more information, visit the event page on Facebook. Space is limited, and RSVP is highly recommended.
