It’s a chance to celebrate the bond between people and their pets, and support the local no-kill shelter at the same time.

This year’s Cause for Paws Gala will be held at the Marquette Holiday Inn on Saturday, Nov. 9. Enjoy an evening of entertainment with live music by Strung Together, hors d’ouevres, cash bar, 50/50 drawings, tons of raffle prizes, silent auction, live auction, and more.

This year’s auction and bucket raffle selection will not disappoint, according to a UPAWS press release which states: “We’ll have autographed sports memorabilia, local artwork, jewelry, plenty of gift baskets, pet items, home decor, beer, wine, a taste of Marquette county restaurant gift certificate package and so much more. Plus, fabulous door prize drawings.”

This year’s attire is pet themed. Gala attendees are encouraged to wear a favorite “dog mom shirt,” cat ears, bunny ears, horse sweater — get creative.

“You can wear something as simple as a ‘cat lady pin’ or dress just like your dog,” according to the release. ” Let’s have some fun and show off our favorite paws for a very good cause. There will be a special drawing for those that dress in the theme.”

A limited number of tickets will be available.

This year, the event will have a streamlined entry. This year UPAWS is offering a pre check-in service to ticket holders who would like to pre check-in from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8 at the Holiday Inn. Ticket holders will be assigned a designated raffle number and can pre-purchase raffle tickets that organizers will have ready with a designated raffle ticket number on them for pick up at the event.
