Woman charged in Pine’s Cafe fire
IRONWOOD — An Ironwood woman was arrested Wednesday on charges related to the Sunday afternoon fire at Pine’s Cafe, according to the Ironwood Public Safety Department.
The 24-year-old woman has been charged with first-degree arson, which carries a maximum sentence of life in prison, a $20,000 fine or three times the value of the property damaged or destroyed; arson — preparation to burn a dwelling, which carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison, a $15,000 fine, or three times the value of the property damaged or destroyed, whichever is greater; and third-degree killing/torturing an animal, which carries a maximum sentence of four years in prison and a $5,000 fine, police said.
The Ironwood woman, whose name is being withheld pending arraignment, is currently lodged at the Gogebic County Jail on a $100,000 bond, according to police.
