Man injured in motorcycle crash
IRON MOUNTAIN — A Negaunee man was injured in a motorcycle crash at about 5 p.m. Thursday on Leeman Road near Lerza Road in Sagola Township.
Michigan State Police said an investigation determined that the man, who was operating a motorcycle, lost control upon entering a sharp curve. The motorcycle struck the guard rail and slid along the edge of the rail before coming to a stop.
The man was transported by Star Ambulance to Dickinson Memorial Hospital and later airlifted to UP Health System-Marquette for treatment. Police said the man was wearing a helmet and alcohol is not believed to be a factor.
Assisting at the scene were Star Ambulance, Beacon Ambulance and Sagola Township Fire Department.
Marina office hours change
MARQUETTE — Effective immediately, Marquette’s Cinder Pond Marina office hours will be 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, until closing on Oct. 31. However, office hours will be extended to 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. for today and Sunday during Labor Day weekend.
