Tax and Wage seminar slated
MARQUETTE — New, growing and established business taxpayers in northern Michigan can attend a Tax and Wage Seminar to learn about or brush up on compliance standards, according to the Michigan Department of Treasury.
In partnership with the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, the state Treasury Department Outreach Team is providing Tax and Wage seminars to local businesses so they can learn the latest about tax law and policy changes affecting the way they pay employees and file taxes.
These seminars are also a great opportunity to meet state government representatives in person and have questions answered.
Topics that will be reviewed at the seminars include payment of wages and fringe benefits, business taxation basics, and sales, use and withholding tax filing and payment rules.
Going paperless by using Michigan Treasury Online also will be covered.
The Tax and Wage seminar will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Marquette Township Hall, 1000 Commerce Drive.
The seminars are free to attend, but pre-registration is required prior to the event.
