MARQUETTE — Superior Handbells, a community handbell group which was organized in September, will present its first concert at 4 p.m. Sunday, May 5, at Messiah Lutheran Church, 305 W. Magnetic St., Marquette.

Jennifer Bleckiner, inaugural director of Superior Handbells said in a news release: “This is a new organization made up of adult ringers of all ages. Although many who ring in the Marquette area have gained most of their experience in various church ensembles, our music is a mix of all musical genres, spiritual and secular.”

Music to be performed at the concert includes arrangements of hymns and choral works as well as original compositions for handbells and two arrangements for handbells and organ. The public is invited.
