The charges include one count each of assault with intent to commit murder, discharge of a firearm in or at a building and discharge of a firearm from a vehicle, along with three counts of assault with a dangerous weapon/felonious assault and six counts of felony firearms. The maximum charge of assault with intent to commit murder carries a penalty of up to life in prison.

Schiefel and two others fled the scene in a Buick, which was later found abandoned on South Second Street in Ishpeming, according to previous reports.

After the suspects were found and interviewed, Schiefel was the only person arrested in connection to the incident.
